Painting behind your toilet can sometimes be the hardest part of painting a bathroom. Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish that professional paint job, without needing to hire a plumber or needing complex tools to get the job done!
Things to have on hand:
-
Extra towels
-
Wrench or pliers if needed
Step 1: Shut off the water to your toilet. You can find the shut off valve at the base of your toilet. It should be horizontal instead of vertical.
Step 2: Remove the tank lid and flush all the remaining water out of the tank. You may have some water remaining, so it's best to use a towel to soak it up as best you can before removing the tank.
Step 3: locate the wing nuts on either side underneath the tank and remove.
Step 4: Remove the water line from the tank. You'll want a towel for this.
Step 5: Ta-daa! Remove the tank, and set on a towel.
Congrats! You can now easily paint behind your toilet without having to reach those tight spots. Once you're done painting, just put everything back in the reverse order.
