How to use your reusable paint tray.

Pour. Paint. Peel. Repeat.

Before you start your next painting project, here are a few easy steps on how to use your Repaint Tray so you can get professional results every time.

1. Pour.

Pour your paint into the Repaint Tray reservoir.

Psst. Don't forget to change into painting clothes.

2. Paint.

Grab your paint roller, paint brush and your preferred tunes and get to painting!

3. Peel.

After you're done painting, leave the lid off your Repaint Tray and let the paint dry in the liner.

Once the paint is dry, start from any corner and slowly peel the paint way.

Helpful Tip: Wash your Repaint Tray liner or lid with dish soap and a scrub brush or sponge for extra cleanliness.

*Note: not all paints peel the same. Paints with a matte/flat or chalky finish can dry crumbly. If you don’t get that satisfying peel, simply roll, crunch, or squeeze your liner or lid to break up the paint and then shake the flakes into the garbage!

Put a lid on it.

Need to step away from painting? No problem. Simply put the lid on your paint tray and walk away.

Your paint and supplies are guaranteed to stay fresh for up to 2 weeks with a proper air-tight seal!

Helpful Tip: Before sealing up your paint for extended periods, add a little more paint to the reservoir, remove painting supplies and make sure you have a proper air-tight seal.

Lift the corner tab, and press on the center of the paint tray lid to remove excess air, then reseal. You know you have a good air-tight seal when the middle of the paint tray lid dips down in the center.

Are all paints compatible?

Short answer: no. 🚫 Steer clear of anything oil-based. These will warp your Repaint Tray liner and lid.

Compatible:

  • Water-based
  • Latex-based
  • Acrylic-based
  • Chalk paint
  • Milk paint
  • Mold-killing paints/primers
  • Craft or kid's paints
  • Water-based primer
  • Shellac-based primer
  • Water-based stains
  • Water-based polycrylic
  • Wood glue
  • Mod Podge
  • Wallpaper paste

NOT Compatible:

  • Oil-based paints, primers and stains
  • Oil-based Polyurethane
  • Varnish
  • Paint removing solvents

If you’re unsure whether or not your paint is compatible, you can always do a test spot by pouring a small amount in your liner. If it starts to bubble or warp, it’s not compatible.

Don’t freak out! 😅 Just let the test spot dry, and peel it out as normal. The test spot will take its shape back after a few days.
